# Start your Business Brain

The Gallery AI · Free starter · Draft 0.1 · 12 September 2026

Give AI a useful introduction to your business, then use it on one small task. You'll leave with a short business brief you can keep and a draft you've checked yourself.

## What you'll need

Your own Claude or Codex account, a place to save a few text files and one task you understand well. Your AI subscription isn't included. Use the tool you already have; there's no need to buy both.

These `.md` files are ordinary text. Open them in a text editor to read or copy them. Open `guide.html` in your browser for the formatted guide.

## Start here

1. Read `PLATFORM-SETUP.md` and choose Claude or Codex. Make a separate folder called `My Business Brain` for your answers. Keep this downloaded pack as a clean original.
2. Open `start-prompt.md`. Copy its prompt into your assistant. It will ask about your business one question at a time.
3. Answer in your own words. You can say “I don't know” or “skip”. Use `business-brief.md` as the shape of the finished brief, not as homework to fill in first.
4. Choose one ordinary task. A short enquiry response or an internal update is enough. Use `first-task.md` if you need help choosing.
5. Check the brief and draft. Correct invented facts, unsuitable tone or unsupported promises. Save the approved brief and the corrections in your own folder.

Start with made-up or non-sensitive material. Only provide information you're allowed to use in your chosen AI account. Remove identifying details from examples. Don't paste a whole inbox, customer database, password or bank record. A short invented example can teach the same lesson.

## When you're finished

You should have `business-brief.md` containing your approved business description and `first-result.md` containing one reviewed draft, what you corrected and the next task you'd like help with. A draft is ready for your review, not automatically ready to send.

In ordinary chat, the assistant may only give you text. Copy that text into files yourself. Don't assume it saved anything. In a new chat, attach or paste your brief again and ask the assistant to summarise the business before starting work. See the platform guide for a more convenient project setup.

## If you get stuck

- Too many questions: say “Ask just the next question. Keep this to one small task.”
- Vague answer: give one concrete example of what a good result looks like.
- Wrong fact: correct it in the saved brief, then provide the corrected version again.
- Interrupted: save a short note saying what you've completed and what comes next. Bring it back with your brief.
- Can't open a Markdown file: open it using a plain-text editor, or read the formatted browser guide.

The free starter is complete when you've got one useful result and a brief you can reuse. The paid Business Brain guide takes this further with a fuller interview, organised context, three reusable workflows and a way to check and update the setup.
